Telugu Seniors

Sydney Telugu Seniors (STS), a wing of the Telugu Association Inc.(also known as Sydney Telugu Association - STA) was formed in April 2016, recognising the changing demographics of Telugu community in NSW and their changing social and cultural needs. For seniors who might find their social networks shrinking, the cultural and arts-based activities and informative events organised by this wing help them stay engaged socially and psychologically to their care partners and communities.

Activities organised by this wing typically integrate cultural and art practices into health care and social settings and help them derive therapeutic benefits of social engagement, skill-building and improved self-expression. In addition, the events organised by this wing provide opportunities to seniors to celebrate their culture, experiences and learning through various activities including music performances; debates/group discussions and quizzes on literature, music and performing arts; intergenerational cultural activities and performances, skill-building workshops and seminars that are informative on health, legal and financial aspects for culturally relevant aging.

Membership for Sydney Telugu Seniors (STS) group is open for all life members of Telugu Association Inc. and/or their spouses who are above the age of 55 years (at least one of them).

Other Telugu seniors in NSW who are not members of Telugu Association Inc. are also welcome to join the association and take part in our activities and events.
